David Skewes has worked in the motoring industry for the past 24 years. During this time he has acquired hands on experience in fleet management, driver training and automotive engineering.

David is an Associate Fellow of the Australian College of Road Safety as well as an Executive Committee Member of the Victorian Chapter of the College. He is a member of the Victorian Association of Traffic Safety Education Teachers, Australian Institute of Management, Chartered Institute of Transport, Australian Council for Rehabilitation of the Disabled and is a committee member of the Community Road Safety Council of Victoria (RoadSafe Victoria).

David holds formal qualifications in road safety, having completed a Graduate Certificate in Road Safety at the University of New England. He is also qualified in management, marketing, quality certification, transport logistics and automotive mechanics.

He has served on a number of state and federal ministerially selected committees including the Accessible Transport Consultative Council and National Accessible Transport Committee. He was also appointed convenor of the National Vehicle Design Working Group.

David is also a regular and respected presenter at fleet management and fleet safety conferences (including the NSW Parliamentary Standing Committee on Road Safety). He has been the road safety journalist for the National Safety Council's magazine - Australian Safety News for the past five years, and is also a regular road safety commentator for television, radio and print media.
